SUMMARY
The wildly popular series by K.A. Applegate is back! The first six books of Animorphs return, with striking new lenticular covers that morph.
Rachel is still reeling from the news that the Earth is secretly under attack by parasitic aliens known as the Yeerks. And that she and her friends -- five kids who, purely by chance, stumbled onto a downed spacecraft and were given the power to morph into any animal they touch -- are the planet's only defense. But Rachel's always been something of a daredevil. So when it's suggested that they infiltrate the home of their assistant principal, Mr. Chapman, who also happens to be a human host of the Yeerks, she volunteers. But what she finds inside may be more than even she can handle. |

RELAUNCH TRIVIA
- Like the Jake from Animorphs #1, there was also a different Rachel model before the final version (see above). She was revealed for the first time in K.A. Applegate's relaunch video, which can be watched below.
Update: Marlee Roberts (actress/singer) was confirmed as the official model for Rachel via Twitter. You can read her interview about the casting and photoshoot process exclusively on the Hirac Delest blog: http://www.hiracdelest.com/blog/?p=3869
- The cover animal of this book can be interactively morphed on the official website by the new model. However, it is a full body animation, and is different from the morphing steps that you see on the actual lenticular cover.

RELAUNCH EDITS & UPDATES
POPCULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY
- Page 06 - Rachel now says "I'm a national symbol." instead of "I'm an endangered species." when referring to herself as a bald eagle.
- Page 29 - Rachel now dreams of being a "gold medalist" instead of "Shannon Miller".
- Page 40 - Rachel invites Jake and the others to listen to her new "album" instead of her new "CD".
- Page 46 - Marco now gets detention for listening to "music" in class, instead of his "CD player".
- Page 78 - "Forget Morris the Cat" has been completely removed, with no replacement reference.
- Page 114 - Marco no longer says that "they killed Superman" that one time, and instead replaces that reference with a general killing of "big" heroes in comic books, who are then brought back to life. This is obviously a stab at the many temporary deaths in the Marvel and DC universe over the years, where iconic characters have simply been retconned back to life.
- "Morphing is certainly more fun than Sega" has been completely removed from the original summary on the back of the book. The entire summary itself has also been rewritten like with Animorphs #1.
SLANG
- Page 13 - "creepy" replaces "creepazoid" when Rachel talks about Cassie's smooth demorphing in comparison to the others.
- Page 15 - Jake now says "That was so awesome!" instead of "That was so absolute!" when talking about flying for the first time.
- Page 17 - Marco now says "dog" when describing an unattractive girl, instead of "skank".
- Page 30 - Rachel tells Melissa she needs a new pair of "sneakers" instead of "sneaks".
- Page 43 - Rachel now describes herself as looking like a total "clown", instead of a total "dweeb", when horseback riding with Cassie.
- Page 81 - Cassie says "chill out, girl" when Rachel unsheathes her claws on Tobias. She originally told Rachel to "take a pill".
CONTINUITY
- Page 55 - "Acquiring" is now italicized to emphasize it as an important official term that the Animorphs repeatedly use throughout the series.
- Page 151 - "SaladShooters" continues from #1 as one word when describing the Hork-Bajir.
- Yeerk names in the series are now connected with proper hyphens. "Iniss Two-Two-Six" is now properly capitalized, spelled, and fixed on pages 95 (3 times), 96, 102, 103, 129, 135, 154, and 160.
FIXED SPELLING AND MINOR EDITS
- Page 05 -
Jake's yell, as he dives past Rachel and Tobias, is changed to one long word.
- Page 11 - Marco's "parent-like" voice is changed to "parentlike".
- Pages 21 & 77 - "Spider-Man" is now correctly spelled with a hyphen (-).
(A personal thank you to the editor who fixed this. Such a nerdy pet peeve of mine!)
- The beginning of every chapter no longer has the starting < symbol if a character is opening the chapter with thought-speak. This happens in Chapters 7(Pg 53), 17 (Pg 127), and 21 (Pg 160).
- Page 111 - Rachel's "C" grade no longer has quotation marks around it.
- Page 128 - Jake's thought-speak end tag > has been fixed. It incorrectly ended with a quotation mark in the original version.
- Page 136 - "pistollike" is changed to "pistol-like" when referring to Chapman's Dracon Beam.
- Page 151 - In "tyrannosaur feet", the T is no longer capitalized.
- Page 155 - Visser Three's ending thought-speak tag > has now been fixed. It incorrectly ended with a quotation mark in the original version.
- Page 157 - "patrolling" is now spelled correctly.
