In case you missed our earlier post today, Scholastic published a press release about the relaunch of the Animorphs series, and also gave us a look at the morphing animation for Animorphs #1’s lenticular cover. To read the full news regarding that, go here: http://www.hiracdelest.com/blog/?p=1328
In the mean while, it looks like Scholastic is going ahead with one of its marketing plans and updating the Official Animorphs Website (The last update was back in 2001, when #54 and the Anibase were released).
Right now they only have a new banner (which is strangely featuring the old covers, when we have already confirmed the new ones), but I’m guessing that this is just a temporary sign to go up with the press release as they get a new design ready. Here are some pictures for the before and after:
OLD DESIGN (Last Updated 2001)
NEW UPDATE (December 9th, 2010)
We’ll keep you informed on any further changes and updates made towards the Animorphs relaunch.
Seriously? 2001? Gosh, so long ago…

“New” Trivia Quiz? That quiz is still the old one. Why not make a new quiz that’s actually new?

Well, I checked out the site and I would like to point some things out. The “Which Animorph Are You?” quiz works fine, but the trivia quiz broke after question 11. Also, I’m having trouble with the Shockwave player. Even after I installed it, my browser still says that I need to install it. Any ideas (about the Shockwave player, seeing as there’s nothing we can do about the quiz)?

@Jordan, Yeah, the trivia is still the same as the one from back in 2001. As I said above, the only thing different is the look of their home page where they have added the new banner. They’ll likely be updating the rest of the site as it gets closer to the relaunch.
@Riversong, I just tried out the Shockwave hawk game and it works just fine for me. What browser are you using? I had no problems on Firefox and Chrome. You can always get in touch with Scholastic’s reps directly if you still having trouble: http://scholastic.custhelp.com/app/ask

I’m using Firefox. Do I have to launch Shockwave after I download it to make the game work?

As long as you have the latest Shockwave installed, you really shouldn’t have to do anything. It should start running by itself as you load the game on Firefox (at least that’s how it is with me).
Try relaunching Firefox after the update/install. If that doesn’t work, end the process via the task manager and restart Firefox again, or restart the entire computer altogether.
