Animorphs #8 (Relaunch Edition) Released!

The latest (and possibly last) relaunch book is out this month, in paperback and ebook. Please view our previous post to know the current status of any future Animorphs Relaunch releases. If there are any further updates or official confirmations, we will be sure to update you here on Hirac Delest.

Animorphs #8: The Alien (Lenticular Edition)

Ax is an Andalite, an alien, stranded on a strange planet he’s sworn to defend, even though it’s not his own. Since the Animorphs rescued him, he’s fought at their side, and in that time they’ve come to consider Ax a friend.

But deep inside, Ax knows he isn’t their friend. He can’t ever be. Andalites must always hold themselves apart, even from their allies. As the Animorphs’ past actions start resulting in deaths of innocent people, however, Ax’s loyalty is called into question. Now he must decide whether to reveal the reason for his estrangement — the shameful secret of his people.

  1. Any full images yet of the full Ax model? Or what the latest version of an Andalite looks like?

  2. Yeah, I can’t believe we still don’t know after all this time.

  3. I agree with Jordan and Kyle. What does an Andalite of this decade look like?

  4. I still haven’t received my book yet. It is still currently on pre-order status, according to Amazon. Same for my local book stores. If anyone has a copy of #8 already, then feel free to post the cover here.

  5. Hey, I preordered it from my local Books-A-Million and come to find out that they canceled my order. Yet didn’t give me my money back.

  6. I know Scholastic may be canceling the series, but recalling books that have already been ordered seems a bit extreme.

I’m normally no conspiracy theorist, but I suspect something’s up.

  7. I can’t order this from Amazon uk, it just hasn’t appeared at all, and I think the ‘used’ listings are listings for the old edition

    Does this actually exist?

    This isn’t a good sign.

  8. I bought the Kindle version and there is no preview in the back for the next book – just a preview for a new book about dragons called “Wings of Fire.” Unfortunately I think the relaunch is dead. I truly doubt we will ever see #8. My bookstore got each relaunch book 2 weeks early, and they don’t have it yet. And of course, it not appearing on Amazon yet isn’t good either. I think it’s done 🙁 But would love to be proven wrong!

  10. Amazon doesn’t currently offer the kindle version. A real pity, since I would love to pay for it. I paid for the first six, seven is next, but I really want the complete collection. 🙁

  11. @Robert: Thanks for letting us know! I took a look around and linked a few other places where you can still legally purchase this ebook. See our new post: http://www.hiracdelest.com/blog/?p=4721.
