I guess I was just in the right place at the right time, because guess what? I was the first viewer as Scholastic uploaded its OFFICIAL trailer for the Animorphs Relaunch! Here it is:
Also, ta da! Here is a clear shot of the new Rachel model that the new trailer has revealed. We recently caught a glimpse of her in the previous post, but this most definitely proves we have a new (and more accurate) portrayal of Rachel for the books. What do you think?

I’m really loving the new models. it seems most people are stuck on ‘Original version of everything is better’ simply because it was the original version, and I’m sorry to say, I don’t share that same outlook. Just because something is the earlier version doesn’t automatically make it the better version and IMO, these new models are looking much better for the parts then any of the older ones did.

@Jeff: Except for the new Tobias model. I was really hoping they’d get it right from the start this time, and give him blond hair. The guy that played Tobias on the book covers from MM4 onwards to the end of the series was the best, and that’s how I always picture Tobias in the books when he’s a human.

Well, I’m liking the new Jake. I don’t know why people on other sites are commenting that he is blond because he looks like a brunette to me.
Rachel is so-so to me. She seems too old. BUT, I’m still willing to give her future covers a chance.

@Ashley, if it has been released, then that’s new for me too! But I guess you can kind of make it out if you look at the larger version of the cover (you can see that in our relaunch pages: Missions > Animorphs #3)

@Ashley and Issam: I know that the new Tobias model has brown hair because if you look at the new cover for The Encounter, you can plainly see brown hair mixed in on that half-hawk head.
Tobias had blond hair!

IMO, they look too old… They could be like that at the end but not at the beginning. They’re supposed to be 13, not 19…

!!!! I thought Rachel was pretty on the original covers … but this Rachel is gorgeous, and so, so, SO perfect! This is so amazingly exciting. I can’t wait to buy all the new books!

Much prefer the old rachel model.. my one issue is that they all look like terrible actors. their expressions suck. I’m holding out for a good tv series remake.. and it’s starting to look possible.. i just hope it’s good.. i’m really, really hoping it’s good D:

I kinda miss the old models, even if some hair colors and other stuff weren’t accurate. They really helped with my image of Animorphs throughout the years. Now when i look at the new ones, they just aren’t them. But maybe it’s just me.
